A bit of history, Bonin was written about an aftershow adventure with some of the locals who, for sake of showing the boys where they regularly party at, took a few of them to the graveyard. Norwood's original version of the song was a slower tempo and played it over the course of a tour. Wish I had a board tape of it from back then. When they took it into the studio, it was revised to the current version and made that bass solo quite an awesome feat. But I remember one show playing the original version at The Drumstick in Lincoln, Nebraska that was a near 20 minute jam. One of the greatest performances I'd ever witnessed in one of the smallest venues on the whole tour! I wonder if Norwood has any recordings of the original. Gonna have to ask him.
