On the Agora Theater web sight the show was listed as such;
FISHBONE
w/King's X - Six Plus One - Fast chester
I naturally interpreted this as meaning FISHBONE headlining.
I arrive at 9something because after seeing King's X several times
recently I planned to just hang with the guys instead.I step to the
street and hear a malestrom of sound 'bout to shake the theater to
pieces.Through it all I hear a snipet of 'Junkie's Prayer' and then
'Freddie's dead' kicks in! Agora management says Fishbone has been on
for 45 min already 'bout half thier set! They seemed totally unaware
that the website had FISHBONE headlinin'! As I jogged into the theater
they promised some compensation after my 3 hour drive from Dayton. In
the end they punked me! Mother Fuckers!!
Be aware!
Because this is supposedly a co-headliner tour some venues don't have
the brains to post them as such. They end up posted willynilly. Walt
and Spacey laughed when I called it a co-headliner. They said Fishbone
is only headlining when King's X is totally off the bill. A number of
Fishbone fans in Cleveland, like me missed inpart Fishbone. Many of the
King's X fans got thier stiff asses loosened a bit! So don't trust'em,
show up plenty early!
After half a show in Cleveland Motor City here I come!
I'll be damned if I allow that experience to be counted
as my last Fishbone show. I'm amazed that the guys can be so
composed on stage, still givin' it up to the end even though
they all are really torn up inside. There was a dedicated knot
of soldiers there on the floor cavortin' with the holy nuttmeg
spirit. Every now and then a King's X'er would throw a forearm
or shoulder into us to keep us 'in line'. A stout fellow with arms
crossed upon chest was takin' what he thought were free shots. He
found that there was a price to be paid. The faithfull called Fishbone
back on stage with 'Fishbone is red hot!'.
