This is only the second time I've managed to catch the bone in ATL, but it was one hellacious ride. Everyone sounded great, the standard (by which I mean insane) fishbone energy was full in effect, too bad the crowd was mostly teeny-boppers and frat boys there to see Slightly Stoopid. Good set, good mix of classic stuff (Sunless Saturday, Party at Ground Zero, Ma & Pa, Freddie's Dead). Too bad the merch table sold their last XL shirt as I was standing there money-in-hand. (Oldbone, I think you were right in front of me, actually. You bought a little t-shirt and a ballcap, right?)

Awesome show, awesome energy, shame about a fairly dull crowd.

Since the last time I saw the Bone in '88 (opening for the Chili Peppers), Ive never been around when they were playing. Just so happened that I was online yesterday and the Bone happened to be in ATL...Cool

In those almost 20 years since Ive seen them the CDs were always laying around and even my kids were into the music. So what the hell...time to take my 12 year old to her first concert. Better get to her now before she goes to some BS Hillary Duff show. Hell Yes, took my 12 year old to see Fishbone, there could be no other way. Had no desire to stick around for Slighty Stoopid either it could only be anti-climatic.

Band was tight, played for 1:10. Definately a bit older than what I saw at The Ritz in NY years ago. Angelo was great. Although I wish Walt and the other boys were still there, they were still great. The Roxy is a bit muddy sounding, Norwoods bass just resonated a bit too much. Lots of new stuff that I never heard. The Fishbone I remember is...Cholly...Party at GZ etc. Miss the old days, but grateful that theyre still out there kickin it... Great show

My favorite group came to Atlanta last Friday. I missed them at Smith's Olde Bar and I was talking to someone Friday that was saying their show was smokin.' I really wish they had not opened Friday because they only played for about an hour. Also, the kids there that had not clue about Fishbone got on my nerves a bit. Their set was off the hook and Angelo's energy was as high as usual. Hearing them play Freddie's Dead was a special treat. I sang LOUDLY to every song. The new members fit in well and their energy was high. Rocky George's guitar playing was tight! I managed to talk to Angelo a bit before the show and take a picture with him that I will post as soon as the film gets developed. I loved the show and I hope they come back to Atlanta soon!!

Okay, so it has been mentioned that the crowd kind of sucked, but the band never stopped trying to get them into it. I actually felt a little bit bad for SS, because the fan base was not one you'd expect to see sticking with a group for more than a few months. I hope I am proven wrong on that one. But either way it was a great show, and even the presence of a Man U. fan (who was actually a cool cat) couldn't dampen the excitement of seeing the 'Bone! Furthermore, the chance that even one of those young teens was touched by the sound of unique music makes me glad that they were there.

The show was great, as always, but the set was abbreviated since they were opening, and a few things had to be improvised (it looked like Pastor Dre forgot his mute, and Angelo was using some kind of micro-soprano sax instead of the usual).

The set was a nice mix from the various albums, and you could tell the Fishbone fans by who could sing along. I was AMPED when the played "Servitude," since I hadn't heard that in a while.

The best part of the whole thing for me is that after the set, Angelo came out and spent time with the fans, including my wife who is a brand new recruit into the Fishbone soldiery. Angelo took the time to sign the shirt she bought, and drew an elaborate picture/logo on the back. He gave her a hug and kisses on the cheeks, and she was positively giddy afterwards. She already loves Fishbone, but the extra attention paid to her at this show and the last show we went to have made her a permanent member of the Familyhood.

We CAN'T WAIT to go see them in Birmingham on the 15th. Hopefully they aren't opening again, but even if they are we will be there to support them and buy merchandise. Fishbone soldiers soldier on!

Yes sir! Fishbone was playing hard! The energy was high, on stage, but i'll agree with the rest of the soliders that the SS crowd stood confused. Who in the hell??? Shut up bitches and step aside we needs to skank and pit. This was the first show that i'd been to where Angelo didn't jump in the crowd. Can't blame him, most of those people would have stepped out the way. Not having the crowd behind you can kill the show, but Fishbone handled it. Nuttbone shiggy.
