Bobby Corona was the owner of the club. He also had The Stone in San Francisco on Broadway in N Beach where he was when he got a phone call. Both Fishbone & Chili Peppers had played both clubs on their own a couple times but on THIS ocasion, we were both playing The Keystone on the same night. Peppers were playing the "headline" slot so they played last even though it was a "co headline" bill. But word got out and the crowd for both acts had lined up around the block, hence the phone call to Bobby Corona. Well he just HAD to see what this was all about so he jumped in his car and drove down to Palo Alto to see for himself. By the time he arrived, we'd finished our set and the Peppers were about half way through theirs. I was backstage doing an idiot check to make sure we'd not left anything behind, briefcase in hand with the settlement money already collected. We were complete. But I just wanted to be sure so I was just checking for anything left behind. Chili Peppers had just started into the song where, as customary at the time, they'd all strip down to what we commonly referred to as "cock socks." So other than an old tube sock covering their privates, they was all butt naked on stage. Bobby Corona comes flying backstage in a panic! Sees me with my briefcase and RUNS up to me, grabs me by the collar with both hand yelling, "YOU'VE GIT TO STOP THIS! THEY'RE OUT THERE ONSTAGE NAKED! This is an ALL AGES SHOW!! I'M GONNA GET SHUT DOWN!! You've gotta DO SOMETHING!!" "It's not MY band!" I explain. He looks at me, the wheels turn in his head, and, after a moment, still clutching me by the collar, screams, "I DONT CARE!!! You've GOT to DO SOMETHING!!" I think I said something like, "Look, I've settled, we've been paid. Do whatever you want but we're done!" He released me from his grip and went running off to find someone else to scream at, but I'll never forget the absolute TERROR in the eyes of that man.
